Description

The Rhea is a 64cm five-light chandelier built around polished chrome curved arms that sweep outward from a central chrome column, each arm carrying a clear glass cylinder housing an E14 lampholder. Clear faceted crystal droplets hang from each arm and from a central chain-link strand, with additional crystal buttons strung around the chandelier frame to add layered reflection when the bulbs are lit.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.6m or higher, the Rhea works as a centrepiece over a dining table or in the centre of a seating area where the 64cm span provides presence without overwhelming the room. The adjustable drop of 820-1790mm allows the chandelier to be set close to the ceiling for lower rooms or dropped further where ceiling height permits, with the chain concealed within the central column. The polished chrome finish reflects daylight and lamplight, amplifying the sparkle from the crystal elements.

Each of the five arms carries a single E14 bulb (sold separately) up to 40W, giving a total potential output of 200W if using traditional halogen bulbs or the equivalent in LED. Most users pair the Rhea with candle-style LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a warm glow that shows off the crystal without harsh glare. The chandelier is dimmable when fitted with dimmable bulbs and paired with a compatible dimmer switch. The combination of clear glass cylinders and faceted crystal droplets creates multiple light sources and reflections, making the fitting appear brighter than the combined wattage alone would suggest.

The chandelier takes five E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 40W each, sold separately. Most users pair it with candle-style LED bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. Both clear and frosted bulbs work, with clear bulbs adding more sparkle to the crystal and frosted bulbs reducing visible filament glare.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable E14 bulbs and controlled by a compatible dimmer switch. The chandelier itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming — dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulbs chosen and the dimmer model installed.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 820mm from ceiling to the bottom of the chandelier means rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above work comfortably when positioning the fitting in the centre of a room. Lower ceilings can accommodate the Rhea if it is hung over a dining table where people sit beneath it rather than walk under it.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the chandelier and allow it to cool. Remove each crystal droplet by gently unhooking it from its fixing. Wipe with a soft, barely-damp microfibre cloth and distilled water, then dry immediately with a clean dry cloth to prevent water marks. Avoid spraying cleaning products directly onto the crystal or chrome as they can leave residue.
