Description
Our RGBW LED Strip Light is a 500cm run of integrated LEDs on a white backing, with red, green and blue chips set alongside white ones. That mix is what the RGBW in the name means: the coloured chips give it its colour-changing side, while the white chips give a 3000K white, a warm tone that sits comfortably in a living room in the evening. The strip is 1.2cm wide and only 0.3cm high, so it tucks into narrow gaps where a conventional light would never go. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, and never outdoors or near water.
Because it is so low and narrow, an LED strip light like this is at its best hidden from view, where you see the glow rather than the source. Run it along the top of a bookcase, under a shelf in an alcove, behind a headboard or around the back of a media unit in a dry living room or bedroom. The white backing keeps it discreet against pale woodwork and painted surfaces. It suits anyone who wants soft background light in the evening and a change of colour when the mood calls for it, without adding another lamp to a crowded room.
The LEDs are integrated and not replaceable, and the strip has no driver of its own. At 0.18KG for the full 500cm it is light enough that weight never becomes a concern along a shelf edge or cabinet top. Between the chips you will see copper pads at regular intervals, marked out as the strip's cut points. There is no switch on the strip itself; it is switched at the wall, so it comes on and off with the room's own switch. The installation instructions come as a download, and it pays to read them before you plan your run.
