Description

The Reif is a 68mm round recessed downlight with an extended white rim that sits flush to the ceiling surface, housing a single GU10 bulb fitting rated at 12W maximum. The rim extends 10mm beyond the edge of the recessed aperture, creating a defined border around the light source and reducing glare when viewed at oblique angles.

Designed for residential and commercial spaces with standard plasterboard ceilings, the Reif fits into a circular ceiling cut-out and is held in place by spring-loaded retention clips. The extended rim design works particularly well in rooms with low ceilings or where the downlight is positioned within the direct line of sight, as the rim softens the transition between ceiling and light aperture. Typical applications include hallways, living rooms, retail spaces and offices where clean, minimal ceiling detailing is needed.

The white powder-coated aluminium body provides heat dissipation for the GU10 lamp while keeping the overall depth to 55mm, allowing installation in ceiling voids as shallow as 65mm. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor use only. The extended rim adds approximately 10mm of visible depth below the ceiling plane once fitted, giving a more pronounced architectural presence than standard flush downlights.
