Description
The Redding Station is a 305mm outdoor pendant light with a dark bronze aluminium frame, prismatic glass panels and a single E27 bulb fitting. The stepped tower design recalls early 20th-century station platform lighting, with two tiered rings above a broad shade fitted with textured glass that breaks up the beam into softer, wider illumination. The fixture hangs on a chain with a 1200mm adjustable drop, allowing installation heights between 403mm and 1500mm from ceiling to base.
Designed for covered outdoor positions such as porch ceilings, pergola beams, garden room canopies and front-door overhangs, the Redding Station carries an IP44 rating against rain and dust ingress. The aluminium construction resists corrosion in coastal and wet climates better than mild steel alternatives, while the dark bronze powder-coat finish weathers to a muted patina over time rather than flaking. The prismatic glass diffuses a 60W E27 bulb across an area of approximately 2-3 metres, providing enough light for safe navigation along pathways or entrances without overwhelming nearby plantings.
The stepped profile and textured glass give the pendant depth when viewed from below, turning a functional light into a focal piece on front elevations or above outdoor dining tables. The dark bronze finish pairs comfortably with traditional brick, stone, weathered timber and painted render, and the relatively compact 305mm width suits narrower porch ceilings and smaller garden structures where a full lantern would overpower the space. The E27 fitting accepts standard LED, halogen or filament bulbs (sold separately), with most installations using a warm-white LED between 6-10W for cost-effective, long-life operation.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 provides protection against solid objects larger than 1mm (dust, insects) and water splashes from any direction. The Redding Station is suitable for covered outdoor positions such as porch ceilings, pergolas and canopies, but should not be fully exposed to driving rain or hose-down cleaning.
What bulb does it take?
The pendant takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for efficient, long-life outdoor lighting.
Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?
The drop is adjustable during installation by shortening the chain length. Once fixed, the height cannot be changed without re-accessing the ceiling rose to adjust the chain.
How is the prismatic glass cleaned?
The glass panels can be wiped with a damp cloth and dried immediately. For more stubborn marks, use a mild glass cleaner and a soft cloth. Ensure the power is switched off before cleaning and avoid soaking the internal bulb fitting.
