Description

The Rectory is a 2-light wall light forged from wrought iron in a textured black finish, built around a Gothic shield-shaped backplate with two curved candle arms extending from either side. Each arm terminates in a hand-formed drip pan and candleholder designed to accept a small Edison screw (SES) candle bulb. The iron is left with a visible hammer texture and slightly irregular surface, consistent with traditional blacksmithing methods.

Designed for medieval, Tudor, Gothic and rustic interiors, the Rectory suits hallways, dining rooms, inglenook fireplaces and period properties where authentic wrought iron detailing is part of the architectural language. The 2-light configuration provides enough ambient light for wall-washing in darker corners or flanking a fireplace, while the candle-style fittings suit decorative filament bulbs that reinforce the period aesthetic. The backplate mounts to a standard UK wall-fixing, with the cable run concealed behind the shield.

The wrought iron construction gives the fitting a substantial weight and presence on the wall without overwhelming smaller spaces. The black finish is a powder-coated layer over the forged metal, protecting the iron from moisture while maintaining the hand-worked texture underneath. Each arm curves outward approximately 200mm from the wall, giving enough projection to cast light sideways along the wall plane rather than just illuminating the fitting itself.
