Description

The Knightsbridge NH020W is an 80mm recessed round LED guide light with an integrated 1W SMD LED producing 45 lumens at 6000K daylight colour temperature. The die-cast aluminium housing carries an IP54 rating, protecting against dust ingress and water splashing from any direction, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation in walls, soffits and steps.

Designed for low-level guide lighting along pathways, stairways, garden walls and building perimeters, the light sits almost flush with the wall surface with only 3mm projection from the mounting plane. The 50mm recessed depth and 75mm cut-out diameter (with supplied sleeve) allow the fitting to be set into brick, block or timber-stud walls. The 230V mains LED requires no separate driver or transformer — the fitting wires directly to the mains supply via a 300mm cable tail.

The matt white powder-coated finish blends into rendered, painted or light-coloured masonry during daylight. The clear diffuser allows the horizontal louvres inside the fitting to be visible when lit, creating a striped wash of light down the wall surface rather than a broad flood. The Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required during installation. At 6000K the light output is cool daylight white rather than warm white, giving higher contrast visibility in outdoor security and wayfinding applications.

What wall depth is needed for installation?

The fitting requires 50mm recessed depth behind the wall surface and a 75mm diameter cut-out. This suits standard 100mm brick or block walls with plaster, or timber-stud walls with at least 75mm cavity depth between studs.

Does it need a separate LED driver?

No. The SMD LED runs directly on 230V mains and the fitting is supplied with a 300mm cable tail for direct connection to the mains supply. No transformer or driver box is required.

Is it suitable for outdoor use?

Yes. The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashing from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor walls, soffits, garden steps and building perimeters in sheltered and exposed positions.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP54 rating allows use in bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the shower/bath enclosure and more than 600mm from the edge of a bath or shower tray). It is not rated for zone 0 or zone 1 (inside or directly above the bath/shower).
