Description

The Ray is a 30cm diameter dome table lamp with a matt black metal shade suspended on a cylindrical stem above a circular base, housing an integrated 8W LED at 3000K. The dome directs light downward and outward through the open base of the shade, providing task lighting for desks, reading positions and bedside tables without casting light upward into the eyes.

Designed for residential and office environments rated IP20, the Ray sits on a footprint of approximately 15-17cm diameter and reaches 45cm in height, fitting onto standard bedside tables, writing desks and side tables without overhang. The matt black finish reduces glare from surrounding light sources and pairs with both monochrome interiors and warmer wood tones. The integrated LED removes the need for separate bulb purchases and delivers consistent colour temperature across the product's lifespan.

The metal construction gives the lamp a weight of approximately 1.2kg, preventing it from tipping when positioned on the edge of a desk or table. The 3000K colour temperature produces warm white light closer to incandescent bulbs than the cooler 4000K-5000K office lighting, making the Ray suited to home environments where warmer tones are preferred. The dome shape diffuses the LED point source, reducing harsh shadows when used for close work.

The integrated LED runs on 220-240V AC mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer switch model. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility with this Maytoni model.

What is the colour temperature?

The LED operates at a fixed 3000K warm white. This is warmer than typical office lighting (4000K-5000K) and closer to the tone of traditional incandescent bulbs, producing a softer light for residential spaces.

Can the shade be angled or adjusted?

No. The dome shade is fixed to the stem and does not tilt or rotate. The lamp provides downward and outward light distribution from the open base of the dome.

What does IP20 mean?

IP20 indicates the lamp is protected against solid objects larger than 12.5mm but has no water resistance. The Ray is suitable for dry indoor environments such as bedrooms, living rooms and offices, but not bathrooms or outdoor locations.
