Ravine Outdoor Large Wall Lantern - Western Bronze

The Ravine is a 510mm outdoor wall lantern with a tapered glass enclosure set in a western bronze metal frame, fitted with an E27 socket rated to 60W. Clear bevelled glass panels form the four sides of the lantern, with the bronze frame running as vertical and horizontal ribs that define each panel edge. A ring detail at the top provides a period accent without pushing the design into full heritage territory.

Designed for external walls flanking front doors, garage entrances and covered patios, the Ravine provides downward and outward light distribution through the four glass sides. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction, making the fitting suitable for sheltered outdoor locations exposed to rain but not direct hosing or submersion. The 290mm projection from the wall requires clearance when fitted near doorways or windows.

The western bronze finish is a dark brown metal tone with subtle warmth, darker than oil-rubbed bronze but less stark than matt black. The bevelled edges on each glass panel catch light at different angles depending on the position of the internal bulb, creating a subtle prismatic effect when lit. Pairing the fitting with a warm-white LED filament bulb at 2200K-2700K reinforces the period aesthetic, while a standard frosted LED at 3000K provides cleaner task light for doorway illumination.

What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP44 protects against splashing water from any direction, making the Ravine suitable for sheltered outdoor locations such as covered porches, doorway canopies and eaves where the fitting is not directly exposed to heavy rain or hosing. It is not rated for fully exposed positions without overhead cover.

What bulb should I use?

The fitting takes one E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately). A warm-white LED filament bulb at 2200K-2700K and 6-8W suits period styling, while a standard frosted LED at 3000K provides cleaner illumination for doorway task lighting.

How far does it project from the wall?

The lantern projects 290mm from the wall once fitted. Check clearance near doorways, windows or gates before installation to ensure the fitting does not obstruct opening or access.

Can the glass panels be cleaned?

Yes. The clear bevelled glass can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner. Switch off power before cleaning and allow the bulb to cool fully.
