Description
The Ravine is a 254mm outdoor chain pendant with a lantern-style frame in western bronze, four clear bevelled glass panels, and a single E27 bulb fitting. The metal frame uses a tapered design that widens at the base, with horizontal banding at the canopy and foot giving the pendant a structured, architectural profile. Clear bevelled glass on all four sides allows light to spread in all directions while the open bottom directs additional downward illumination.
Designed for covered outdoor spaces such as front porches, rear verandas, and covered dining areas, the Ravine carries an IP23 rating that protects against vertically falling water and light spray but requires overhead shelter from direct rainfall. The 2438mm chain is adjustable on installation, allowing the pendant to hang at any point between 605mm and 3080mm total drop depending on ceiling height and desired positioning above a table or doorway. The western bronze finish is a dark, slightly weathered brown that pairs well with timber cladding, brick, and painted render.
The bevelled edges on the glass panels catch and refract light from the bulb, creating subtle prismatic highlights across the metal frame and surrounding surfaces when the pendant is lit. The 60W maximum E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or vintage-style filament bulbs (sold separately), with most users choosing warm-white LED or Edison-style filament bulbs between 6-10W to create a welcoming entrance or dining light. At 514mm tall and 254mm wide, the Ravine suits porches with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above when hung at typical door-head height.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP23 rating mean for outdoor use?
IP23 protects against vertically falling water and light spray, but the pendant must be installed under a roof, porch canopy, or similar overhead shelter. It is not suitable for fully exposed locations where horizontal rain or direct downpours can reach the fitting.
What bulb works best with this pendant?
The E27 socket accepts any standard Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K provide efficient ambient light, while vintage Edison-style filament bulbs create a heritage look that suits the lantern design. Bulbs are sold separately.
Can the chain length be adjusted after installation?
The chain is adjustable during installation only. Excess chain links can be removed or looped inside the canopy to set the desired drop between 605mm and 3080mm. Once installed, the pendant cannot be easily raised or lowered without re-accessing the canopy fixings.
What colour is western bronze?
Western bronze is a dark, slightly weathered brown with warm undertones, similar to aged oiled bronze or dark walnut. It pairs well with natural timber, brick, and painted render in heritage, farmhouse, and transitional architectural styles.
