Description

The Rando is an outdoor up-and-down wall light built around a ribbed metal cylinder in a white powder-coated finish, mounted on a rectangular wall plate. Two E27 bulb fittings sit inside the cylinder, one facing upward and one downward, casting dual-beam light onto the wall surface above and below the fitting. The vertical ribbing on the cylinder breaks the light into fine shadow lines when the bulbs are lit.

Designed for outdoor installation on house facades, garden walls, garage entrances and covered terraces, the Rando carries an IP54 rating protecting it against dust ingress and water spray from any direction. The metal housing withstands outdoor conditions without corroding, and the white finish remains stable under UV exposure. The fitting projects 16cm from the wall once installed and sits 26cm tall, giving enough vertical spread to light a typical 2.7-3m wall height from a single mounting point.

The dual E27 fittings accept standard screw-base bulbs up to 60W each (sold separately), allowing control over colour temperature and brightness depending on whether warm ambient wash or cooler security lighting is needed. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs at 6-10W per fitting for a softer architectural effect at night. The rectangular mounting plate fixes to a standard outdoor back box and conceals the cable entry behind the wall plate. The white finish pairs with render, painted masonry and modern composite cladding.

What bulbs does the Rando take?

The fitting has two E27 (Edison screw) bulb holders, one facing up and one down. Each accepts bulbs up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED bulbs at 6-10W per fitting for outdoor ambient lighting.

Is it suitable for exposed outdoor positions?

Yes. The IP54 rating protects against dust and water spray from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor walls, covered terraces, garage entrances and garden walls. It should not be fully submerged or installed where it will be hit by direct high-pressure water jets.

How is it mounted?

The rectangular wall plate fixes to a standard outdoor back box. The cable enters through the back of the plate, and the cylinder and dual lamp holders are pre-wired to the plate. Installation requires mains wiring by a qualified electrician.

Can it be used under a porch or canopy?

Yes. The Rando suits covered outdoor areas including porches, canopies, pergolas and terraces where it will not be exposed to driving rain but needs protection against moisture and dust.
