Description

The Radiata is a single outdoor spotlight with an adjustable head housed in a powder-coated black cast aluminium body, mounted on a ground lance for installation in soil, gravel or grass borders. The fitting takes a single G9 bulb (sold separately) behind a transparent Pyrex glass lens, directing a focused beam that can be angled by rotating the head on its mount.

Designed for garden borders, pathway edges, and upward accent lighting on exterior walls, trees or architectural features, the Radiata provides task and feature lighting in residential gardens and commercial landscaping. The ground lance pushes directly into soil or soft substrates, giving a stable mount without needing to dig a trench or pour a footing. The IP54 rating protects the internal wiring and lamp holder from dust ingress and splashes from rain or garden irrigation.

The cast aluminium construction gives the fitting weight and rigidity once installed, preventing movement in wind or when adjusting the head angle. The black powder-coated finish resists UV fade and weathering in exposed positions. The compact 65mm diameter head and 150mm projection from the lance keep the fitting unobtrusive during daylight while providing sufficient throw when lit at night. The G9 socket accepts halogen or LED G9 bulbs and is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and bulb type.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does the Radiata take?

The fitting takes a standard G9 bulb, available in halogen or LED. Bulbs are sold separately. For outdoor use, an LED G9 is recommended for longer lifespan and lower heat output in the sealed fitting.

Is it suitable for coastal or exposed locations?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashes, making it suitable for most UK garden environments. In coastal locations with salt spray, rinse the fitting occasionally with fresh water to prevent salt build-up on the powder coating.

How is the lance installed?

The ground lance pushes directly into soil, gravel or grass. For harder ground, pre-drill a pilot hole with a steel rod or masonry bit. The lance should be pushed in until stable, typically 150-200mm depending on substrate.

Can the head angle be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The spotlight head rotates on the mount, allowing the beam direction to be adjusted without removing the lance from the ground. The joint holds position once set but can be repositioned as needed.
