Description

The Radiara-2 is a 103mm diameter round recessed LED downlight with an integrated 10W 3000K LED, finished in matt white die-cast aluminium. The fitting sits flush with plasterboard ceilings once installed, with a visible 103mm outer ring and a 58mm aperture for the light source. The COB (chip-on-board) LED sits behind a frosted diffuser that spreads warm white light across the ceiling plane and downwards into the room.

Designed for general lighting in residential rooms with standard 2.4-2.7m ceiling heights, the Radiara-2 suits living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and kitchens where recessed ceiling lighting is preferred over pendant or surface-mounted fittings. The IP44 rating on the front face allows installation in bathrooms (zone 2 and outside zones) and above kitchen sinks where occasional splashing may occur. The 10W output provides moderate ambient light rather than focused task lighting, so multiple downlights are typically spaced 1.5-2m apart for even coverage.

The matt white finish on the aluminium ring blends with white ceilings to minimise visual presence when the light is off. The die-cast aluminium construction provides heat dissipation for the integrated LED, which cannot be replaced separately from the fitting. At 3000K the colour temperature produces a warm white tone closer to halogen than daylight, avoiding the cooler blue-white cast of 4000K+ LEDs. The fitting includes a 5-year warranty covering the integrated LED and driver.

No. The 10W LED is integrated into the fitting and cannot be replaced separately. If the LED fails within the 5-year warranty period, the entire fitting is covered for replacement.

What ceiling depth is needed for installation?

Recessed downlights typically require 80-100mm of void space above the ceiling for the driver and housing. Check the installation guide for exact clearance requirements before cutting the ceiling aperture.

Is it suitable for bathroom installation?

The IP44 front rating allows installation in bathroom zone 2 (above the bath or shower enclosure, minimum 600mm from water outlets) and outside zones. It is not rated for direct water jets or zone 0/1 installation.

How many downlights are needed per room?

A single 10W downlight provides moderate ambient light covering approximately 3-4m² at typical ceiling heights. For a 12m² room, 3-4 downlights spaced evenly would give adequate general lighting. Spacing of 1.5-2m between fittings is typical for residential use.
