Description

The three light Quilbrook cluster is the compact version of the design, with three clear glass globes grouped under a 346mm bright nickel plate. It keeps the same round glass and cool silver metal as the larger sizes but takes up much less ceiling, which makes it easy to place. The drop adjusts between 1140mm and 1340mm, and three E27 lamp holders take 10W LED bulbs. The whole fitting is dimmable, so this ceiling light can run bright for a task and then drop to a low level for the evening without any change of bulb.

Small clusters earn their keep in rooms where a big pendant would crowd the space. We would use the Quilbrook over a bedside table in place of a lamp, above a small round dining table, in a hallway, a study or a cloakroom. It also works in multiples, with three or four in a line along a kitchen island where a single large fitting would look heavy. At 2.1kg it is light enough for most ceiling roses and simple to level once hung.

The metalwork is bright nickel over metal, a clean silver that stays cool against white paint and pale tile. The globes are clear, so the bulb shows through, and a small LED globe with a warm output keeps the light kind rather than clinical. To clean, switch off, let the bulbs cool, then dust the glass with a dry microfibre cloth and wipe the nickel with the same cloth slightly damp. Do not use cream cleaner or scouring pads on plated metal. If you want the same glass at a bigger scale, the seven light Quilbrook cluster and the cascade versions run to larger sizes.
