Description
Puglia is a set of three solar ball lights, each a white plastic globe on a black plastic ground spike. The globes come in three sizes, 15cm, 20cm and 25cm across, and the tallest light stands 30cm high, so the group reads as a small cluster rather than three matching posts. Each ball holds an integrated solar LED, rated at 0.1W, 0.2W and 0.2W, one per ball, with the light diffused through the white shade. All three carry an IP44 rating, which means they are protected from splashing water and can stay outdoors in the garden.
Push the spikes into a lawn, a flower bed or a border and the globes sit just above the ground, where they can line a path or pick out planting after dark. Because they are solar, there is no mains connection, so you can place them wherever the sun reaches and move them as the garden changes. The panel charges from daylight, and as general guidance they do best in an open, sunny spot away from heavy shade. Grouping the three sizes together gives a relaxed, natural look, though they work just as well spaced out across a bed. They suit anyone who wants gentle garden lighting with no electrical work to plan.
Each light has a black plastic body and a white plastic shade, and the LED cannot be replaced. Power is stored in three AAA NiMH batteries rated at 600mAh, and the run time is 6 to 8 hours. An on/off switch lets you turn the lights off on nights when you would rather keep the garden dark. The set weighs 1.207KG packed. The installation instructions come as a download, and they are worth a read before you choose where each spike goes.
