Description
The Provence is an adjustable desk lamp built from steel and brass components, finished in aged brass with a low-sheen patina. A conical metal shade sits on three articulated knuckle joints above a weighted circular base, allowing the lamp head to be positioned across a desk surface, angled towards a bedside table, or tilted upward to cast light onto a wall.
Designed for desks, workbenches and bedside tables, the three-joint articulation gives directional control without needing a fixed overhead fitting. The shade concentrates light downward through an E27 bulb fitting (sold separately), making the lamp suitable for reading, desk work or close detail tasks where directed light reduces eye strain compared to ambient ceiling light alone. The weighted base keeps the lamp stable when the arm is extended.
The aged brass finish shows intentional tonal variation across the metal surfaces, giving each lamp a naturally weathered appearance rather than a uniform factory polish. The finish pairs well with mid-century, industrial and traditional interiors where warm metal tones are used as accent details. The conical shade measures approximately 180mm across the base and stands around 450-500mm tall when fully extended, though the articulation allows it to be collapsed to around 300mm when not in use.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for desk or bedside reading.
Can the joints be locked in position?
The knuckle joints hold their position through friction resistance rather than a screw-lock mechanism. Once positioned, the lamp holds the angle under normal use, though the joints can be adjusted by hand whenever needed.
How tall is the lamp when fully extended?
The lamp stands approximately 450-500mm tall when the arm is fully extended upward. The articulation allows it to be collapsed to around 300mm or angled horizontally to direct light across a desk surface.
Is the aged brass finish sealed?
The aged brass finish is applied during manufacture to create an intentional patina. The finish is stable and does not require polishing or maintenance beyond occasional dusting with a soft dry cloth.
