Description

The Provence is a 1673mm adjustable floor lamp built around three articulated knuckle joints that allow the arm and head to be repositioned from an upright stance to a low-angled reading position. The conical shade in polished nickel directs light downward through a single E27 bulb (sold separately), while the polished nickel finish on the column, arm segments and weighted circular base creates a cohesive metallic presence.

Designed for reading corners next to armchairs, side-of-sofa positions and home office desks where directed task light is needed, the Provence pairs French-inspired proportions with the flexibility of an architect lamp. The three joints allow the shade to be angled from 900mm to 1400mm above floor level and repositioned horizontally to direct light over a book, a laptop or a specific area of a room. The 580mm maximum reach from the base allows the lamp to sit beside furniture without needing to be placed directly behind it.

The polished nickel finish offers a cooler, brighter metallic tone than brass or bronze, pairing well with greys, whites and cooler contemporary interiors. The weighted circular base provides stability without requiring a large footprint — 343mm diameter — and the polished metal surface reflects ambient light when the lamp is off. The conical shade measures approximately 250mm across the open base, concentrating light into a defined pool rather than spreading it widely.

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for reading.

Can the arm and head be adjusted?

Yes. The lamp has three knuckle joints allowing the arm segments and shade to be repositioned. The shade can be angled from 900mm to 1400mm above floor level and extended up to 580mm horizontally from the base.

Is the polished nickel finish chrome-like?

Polished nickel has a slightly warmer, softer tone than chrome but is still a bright, reflective metallic finish. It sits between the coolness of chrome and the warmth of brushed nickel or satin nickel finishes.
