Description

The Provence is a 1 light adjustable fitting that installs either as a pendant or a wall light, with three brass knuckle joints allowing the conical shade to be positioned and locked into place. The shade is made from brass with an aged brass finish, and the rod sections and ceiling or wall plate match the same aged brass tone. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for kitchens, dining areas, home offices and reading corners, the Provence provides directed task light that can be angled towards a worktop, a dining table surface, or a reading chair. The three knuckle joints pivot independently, so the shade can be positioned close to the ceiling or wall plate for a compact profile, or extended out and angled downward for longer reach. When fitted to a wall, the arm extends approximately 400mm from the wall at full extension; when fitted as a pendant, the total drop including the shade is adjustable on installation.

The aged brass finish shows subtle tonal variation and a low-sheen patina that reduces reflections and pairs with both warm-toned traditional interiors and industrial-style kitchens. The conical shade directs light downward while the open top allows a small amount of upward spill onto the ceiling or wall, preventing the fitting from creating a hard spotlight effect. The combined brass and steel construction gives the fitting durability in high-use kitchen and dining environments.

Frequently Asked

Can it be installed as both a pendant and a wall light?

Yes. The Provence ships with the fixings needed for either ceiling pendant installation or wall mounting. The choice is made during fitting, depending on which plate (ceiling or wall) is used to secure the first rod section.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for kitchen or dining task lighting.

Do the joints hold position under the weight of the shade?

Yes. Each knuckle joint uses friction to hold position once angled. The joints are tight enough to support the shade weight without drooping, but can still be repositioned by hand when needed.

What's the maximum reach when wall-mounted?

When all three joints are fully extended outward from the wall, the shade sits approximately 400mm away from the wall plate. The exact reach depends on the angle set at each joint.
