Description

The Presmenne LED Downlight is a slim, round recessed light for the ceiling, with a white plastic body and a neat white trim with a diameter of 9cm. The light source is an integrated LED drawing 4.5W and giving 450 lumens, a comfortable amount of light for a single downlight. It carries an IP20 rating, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, away from bathrooms and steam.

We see it at its best in runs across a bedroom, living room, hallway or study ceiling, where several downlights spread an even light without a hanging shade getting in the way. The real gain is the choice of three colour temperatures: 2700K for a warm, relaxed glow, 4000K for a crisper neutral light, and 6500K for a bright daylight tone that suits a desk or a dressing area. One downlight can therefore suit a calm bedroom or a working space, and the choice is made at the fitting itself rather than at the wall.

The body is plastic with a clean white finish, and spring clips hold it against the ceiling once it is in place. It needs a cut-out of 6.8cm and a recess depth of 3cm, which helps where the ceiling void is shallow. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, carries energy class E and weighs 0.155KG packed. It is not dimmable and is switched at the wall, so an ordinary wall switch does the job. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Before ordering, check that the space behind your ceiling gives 3cm of depth.
