The Prato Large is a 225mm table lamp with a conical shade and rounded base, both formed from a single piece of white blown glass that has been etched and frosted to diffuse light evenly. The lamp houses a single E27 bulb (sold separately) inside the base, with light passing up through the translucent glass to create a soft ambient glow rather than directed task light.

Designed for bedside tables, console tables and side tables in living rooms or hallways, the Prato suits spaces needing gentle background lighting rather than concentrated reading light. The electric cable includes an inline switch, allowing the lamp to be turned on and off without reaching for a wall switch. The IP20 rating limits the lamp to dry indoor rooms — bedrooms, living rooms and hallways, not bathrooms or outdoor covered areas.

The etched finish on the white glass hides the bulb from direct view and softens the light output, making the shade itself the light source. The mushroom-like profile sits approximately 225mm in diameter at the widest point of the shade, with the rounded base giving the lamp a low centre of gravity on flat surfaces. The monochromatic white finish pairs with both neutral and coloured interiors without competing for attention.

The Prato takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K to achieve soft ambient light without overpowering the frosted glass diffuser.

Is it suitable for a bedside table?

Yes, though it provides ambient light rather than focused reading light. The frosted glass diffuses light in all directions, creating a gentle glow suitable for winding down in the evening. For reading, you may want a second directed light source alongside the Prato.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the Prato to dry indoor rooms only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, or outdoor use, even under cover.

How is the glass cleaned?

Wipe the frosted glass with a dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the glass or using chemical sprays that may damage the etched finish.
