Description

The Pollica is a compact wall spotlight in black, with a round steel wall plate, a short arm and a smoke-tinted glass globe that you can angle wherever the light is needed. It stands 12cm high and 6.5cm in diameter, and it comes just 6.5cm out from the wall, so it keeps a slim profile in a narrow hallway or beside a mirror. The shade is vaporised glass in a black-transparent tone, which takes the glare off the bulb while its shape stays visible. It takes a single E14 bulb of up to 10W, and the bulb is not included, so the warmth of the light is your choice. Rated IP20, it is made for dry rooms indoors.

Because the head angles, one fitting can wash light across a mirror, pick out a picture or point down towards a hall table where keys and post gather. It suits hallways, bedrooms, living rooms and studies, and a pair either side of a mirror or a bed gives a balanced look. The black steel and grey glass sit comfortably with dark frames, warm woods and pale walls alike, so it suits a modern scheme or a more industrial one.

The body is steel finished in black, and the shade is glass. Glass wipes clean easily with a soft cloth once the bulb has cooled. There is no switch on the fitting itself, as it is switched at the wall and runs from your existing light switch. As a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz. The installation instructions come as a download. A warm white LED bulb looks especially good behind the tinted glass.
