Description
The Polinesia Small is a 190mm diameter table lamp with a woven textilene rope shade finished in beige, set on a matt champagne metal stem and circular base. The shade is constructed from tightly wound synthetic rope formed into a wicker-weave pattern, creating an open structure that allows light to escape through the gaps between the cords. An E27 bulb fitting inside the shade casts light both through the weave and downwards through the open base.
Designed for side tables, console tables and covered outdoor dining areas, the Polinesia Small provides accent task lighting in a 400mm-tall footprint that sits comfortably on narrow surfaces. The IP44 rating protects against water splashes from any direction, making the lamp suitable for covered patios, conservatories and bathrooms where moisture is present but the fitting is not exposed to direct weather. The circular base includes a USB charging port and inline foot switch on the cable, removing the need to reach behind furniture to control the lamp.
The textilene rope is a synthetic fibre that resists UV fade and moisture absorption better than natural jute or rattan, while maintaining the visual texture of woven natural materials. The beige tone pairs with coastal, Mediterranean and neutral contemporary interiors, and the open weave creates a patterned light throw on adjacent walls when lit. The lamp accepts any standard E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately), allowing you to choose between warm filament-effect LEDs for ambient light or higher-output bulbs for reading.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 protects against water splashes from any direction, so the Polinesia Small can be used in covered outdoor areas such as verandas, covered patios and conservatories where it is sheltered from direct rain. It is not waterproof and should not be exposed to standing water or heavy downpours.
What bulb does it take?
The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient accent lighting.
Is it dimmable?
Yes, when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The lamp itself has no built-in dimming function, so dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulb choice.
Does the USB port charge devices?
Yes. The circular base includes a USB charging port, allowing you to charge a phone or tablet while the lamp is plugged in, whether the lamp itself is switched on or off.
