Description

The Polar is a single-phase track spotlight built around a cylindrical aluminium housing finished in matt black, measuring 82mm diameter by 148mm height. It mounts to Unity-compatible single-phase track via a rotating connector that allows 360° positioning on the track rail, and the lamp head itself pivots to direct the beam. The fitting takes a GX53 LED bulb rated up to 15W (sold separately), which sits behind a frosted polycarbonate diffuser at the front aperture.

Designed for accent lighting in retail displays, gallery walls, kitchen worktops and home office task areas, the Polar delivers focused directional light where overhead ambient fittings cannot reach. The track system allows multiple spotlights to be positioned along a shared power rail without separate ceiling cut-outs, making it particularly suited to spaces where lighting needs change or where flexibility is valued over fixed downlights. The black finish recedes against dark ceilings and works cleanly with industrial, contemporary and minimalist interior schemes.

The aluminium body dissipates heat from the GX53 lamp without requiring external cooling fins, keeping the profile compact. The polycarbonate diffuser softens the beam edge while maintaining a defined throw, reducing glare when angled towards viewers. The IP20 rating limits the Polar to dry interior spaces — not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor canopies or damp environments. The Polar is designed for Unity-compatible single-phase track systems. It will not fit three-circuit or two-circuit track rails, and is not compatible with older-style two-wire surface track without an adapter.

Does it come with a GX53 bulb?

No. GX53 LED bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 9-12W GX53 LED in 3000K or 4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is needed.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Polar is suitable only for dry interior spaces. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, wet rooms, outdoor canopies or any environment with moisture exposure.

How is the beam directed?

The spotlight rotates 360° on the track connector, allowing it to be positioned anywhere along the rail. The lamp head itself pivots within the housing, so the beam can be angled towards a wall, worktop or display without moving the entire fitting on the track.
