Description

The Polana is a 700mm diameter round chandelier with 12 faceted optical prism glass shades arranged symmetrically around a polished chrome circular frame. Each shade houses a G4 20W halogen lamp (included), and the angled facets in the cut glass refract light into prismatic highlights across ceilings and walls.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and double-height entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Polana provides both ambient and decorative lighting. The drop adjusts between 280mm and 1350mm on installation, allowing the chandelier to be suspended 700-900mm above a dining table or centred in a larger volume where the full ring can be appreciated from multiple angles. The polished chrome finish pairs with contemporary, transitional and modern classical interiors, especially those with glass furniture, chrome door handles or metallic accent details.

The 12 G4 halogen lamps draw a combined 240W at full brightness and are compatible with trailing-edge dimmers for adjustable output. The chandelier weighs 6kg when fully assembled, requiring a ceiling rose capable of supporting this load and secure fixing into a joist or plasterboard anchor rated for the weight. The optical prism glass shades catch both natural daylight and evening lamp light, creating different visual effects depending on time of day and viewing angle.

Yes. The Polana ships with 12 G4 20W halogen lamps already fitted. These are not LED or CFL compatible — replacement lamps must be G4 halogen capsules rated at 20W or below.

Is the Polana dimmable?

Yes, but only with a trailing-edge dimmer designed for low-voltage halogen lighting. Standard leading-edge dimmers may cause flickering or transformer hum. Confirm dimmer compatibility before installation.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 280mm minimum drop suits ceilings of 2.7m or higher when the chandelier is suspended above a dining table at 700-900mm from the surface. For living rooms or entrance halls where the fitting is viewed from below, ceiling heights of 3m or above give the best visual balance.

How is the drop adjusted during installation?

The suspension cable and chain can be shortened or extended during fitting to achieve any drop between 280mm and 1350mm. Once set, the drop is fixed until the chandelier is taken down and re-adjusted.
