Description

The Points S is a 2W LED magnetic track downlight with a compact 36mm × 21mm × 45mm black aluminium body, designed to clip onto 48V DC magnetic track systems without tools. The integrated LED produces 4000K neutral white light through a recessed source fitted with a HoneyComb anti-glare filter that reduces direct glare while maintaining light output.

Designed for retail displays, gallery picture lighting, kitchen worktop task lighting and office accent zones, the Points S directs a focused beam from a minimal visible footprint. The magnetic mounting allows the fitting to be repositioned along the track without re-wiring, making it useful for spaces where lighting needs shift over time or where trial positioning is needed before permanent placement. The 48V DC supply runs through the track itself, so each fitting draws power on contact with the magnetic rail.

The black aluminium body carries an IP20 rating, limiting use to dry indoor environments. The HoneyComb filter sits behind a recessed lens aperture, creating what Maytoni terms a 'Light from Nowhere' effect where the light source itself remains visually minimal even when the fitting is viewed at an angle. The matte black finish absorbs ambient light and pairs with black, grey and industrial interiors without adding visual weight. At 2W per fitting, multiple Points S downlights can be run on a single track circuit without overloading domestic ring mains.

What track system does this fit?

The Points S is designed for Maytoni's 48V DC magnetic track system (Exility range). It will not fit standard mains-voltage track or other manufacturers' magnetic systems without adapter rails.

Can the fitting be repositioned once installed?

Yes. The magnetic mounting allows the downlight to be slid along the track and repositioned without tools or re-wiring. Power is drawn directly from the magnetic track on contact.

What does the HoneyComb filter do?

The HoneyComb filter is a cellular optical grid that reduces direct glare from the LED source while maintaining light output. This makes the fitting more comfortable to view when positioned at or below eye level in retail or gallery settings.

Is this suitable for bathroom or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating limits the Points S to dry indoor environments only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, kitchens zones near sinks/taps, or any outdoor application.
