Description

The Maytoni Points is a 116mm linear track light housing a 6W LED module that clips onto magnetic 48V DC track systems. The fitting is built from a single extruded aluminium housing finished in matt black, with six deeply recessed LED apertures arranged in a line down the underside. Each aperture creates a focused 36° beam at 3000K warm white, designed to provide directional accent lighting rather than general room illumination.

Magnetic track lighting runs on low-voltage DC rather than mains, so the track itself is safer to touch and easier to reconfigure than traditional mains track. The Points fitting clips onto the magnetic track rail and can be repositioned along the length without tools, allowing accent lights to be moved as room layouts or display arrangements change. The 36° beam angle suits gallery walls, retail shelving, worktop zones in kitchens, or highlighting architectural details where a tightly controlled pool of light is needed.

The recessed LED apertures sit 8mm back from the front edge of the housing, reducing glare when viewed from typical standing or seated positions. The 28mm height and 26mm width give the fitting a low-profile presence on the track, keeping visual focus on the lit surfaces rather than the fixture itself. The matt black finish absorbs reflections and pairs cleanly with black track rails in contemporary, industrial and minimalist interiors. The aluminium construction acts as a passive heatsink for the LED module, keeping the fitting cool during extended use.

The fitting operates on DC 48V, which must be supplied by a compatible driver and magnetic track system (sold separately). IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments only.

The Points is designed for magnetic track systems running on DC 48V. It will not fit standard mains track rails. The magnetic mounting allows the fitting to clip onto the track and be repositioned without tools.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 6W LED module is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of use, which translates to roughly 10-12 years at 6 hours per day.

Can it be used in bathrooms or kitchens?

The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor environments only. It is not suitable for bathrooms (which require IP44 minimum in zones 1-3) or above hobs where steam or grease is present. It can be used in dining areas and dry sections of kitchens away from sinks and cookers.

What's the beam angle and how does it affect placement?

The 36° beam creates a focused pool of light rather than wide general illumination. From a typical track height of 2.4m, the beam will cover approximately a 1.5m diameter circle on the floor or wall.
