Description

The Maytoni Points is a 33cm linear track light with an integrated 16W LED strip running the length of a white powder-coated aluminium body. The fitting mounts onto magnetic track systems via a built-in connector and operates on DC 48V power supplied through the track. The LED produces 4000K neutral white light through a 36° beam angle, directing illumination downward onto work surfaces, displays or architectural features below.

Designed for commercial and residential interiors where directed task lighting or accent lighting is needed, the Points suits kitchens, home offices, retail display walls, gallery spaces and corridors. The magnetic mounting allows the fitting to be repositioned along the track without tools — slide it into place and the magnet holds it securely while the track delivers power. The 33cm length provides a line of light rather than a single spotlight, reducing the number of individual fittings needed to illuminate a worktop or wall run.

The aluminium construction keeps the fitting lightweight at approximately 0.3kg, so the magnetic mount can support it without additional mechanical fixing. The white powder-coat finish pairs cleanly with white ceilings and minimalist interiors, and the recessed LED source sits below the rim of the housing to reduce direct glare when viewed from typical standing or seated eye level. The 4000K colour temperature sits between warm white (2700K-3000K) and cool daylight (5000K+), providing clear visibility for reading, food preparation and detailed work without the clinical feel of cooler LEDs.

The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor locations — it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor canopies or anywhere subject to water spray or high humidity. The DC 48V supply means the track system itself must include a driver/transformer to step down from mains 230V; the Points fitting does not contain its own driver and cannot be wired directly to mains power.

The Points is designed for magnetic track systems operating on DC 48V. It will not fit standard three-circuit mains-voltage track rails. The track system must include a driver/transformer to convert 230V mains to 48V DC, and the track itself must have magnetic properties to hold the fitting in place.

Can the fitting be repositioned after installation?

Yes. The magnetic mount allows the fitting to be slid along the track and repositioned without tools. Simply lift it slightly to disengage the magnet, slide it to the new position, and set it back down — the magnet reconnects automatically and the track supplies power at any point along its length.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. Maytoni rate the LED at 30,000+ hours of operation (approximately 10-15 years of typical domestic use), after which the entire fitting would need replacing.

What beam angle does it produce?

The fitting produces a 36° beam angle, which provides a moderately focused wash of light. This is narrower than general ambient lighting (90°+) but wider than a tight spotlight (15-20°), making it suitable for lighting kitchen worktops, retail shelving or feature walls without hard-edged shadows.
