Plantation 2 Light Flush Ceiling Light - Pearl Bronze

The Plantation is a 305mm flush ceiling light with a cut crystal glass bowl held within decorative pearl bronze metalwork featuring a textured pineapple motif on the ceiling plate and ornate leaf detailing on the finial. The fitting takes two E27 bulbs (sold separately) behind the optic-cut glass, which refracts light into soft patterns across the ceiling and walls.

Designed for low-ceiling rooms and hallways where a pendant would hang too low, the 203mm fitting height keeps the glass bowl close to the ceiling whilst providing downward and diffused light through the crystal cuts. The bronze finish and classical detailing suit period properties, heritage interiors and traditional schemes where ceiling roses, cornicing or picture rails are present. The 305mm diameter fits standard ceiling boxes and works in entrance halls, cloakrooms, bathrooms (subject to zone restrictions) and bedrooms where ambient light is needed without pendant drop.

The pearl bronze finish is darker than polished brass but warmer than oil-rubbed bronze, sitting between antique brass and aged copper in tone. The textured pineapple pattern on the ceiling plate adds dimensionality that catches light during the day and creates subtle shadowing when the fitting is illuminated. The optic-cut glass bowl uses a swirl pattern reminiscent of lead crystal stemware, giving the light a more decorative character than plain frosted or clear glass alternatives.

What bulbs does it take?

The Plantation takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-8W and 2700K for ambient lighting in hallways or bedrooms.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 203mm fitting height makes this suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m or above, where a pendant would hang too low. The flush-to-ceiling design keeps the glass bowl within approximately 200mm of the ceiling surface.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The fitting has no stated IP rating, so bathroom use depends on the zone. It is suitable for Zone 3 (areas more than 600mm from a shower or bath) but should not be installed directly above or adjacent to water sources without confirmation of IP rating from Hinkley.

How is the glass cleaned?

The cut crystal glass bowl attracts dust in the recesses of the optic pattern. Switch off the power at the consumer unit, allow the bulbs to cool, then wipe the glass with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth with distilled water works, but avoid soaking the metalwork or using spray cleaners.
