Planet LED Semi-Flush Ceiling Light 3000K 80W - White

The Planet is a 750mm semi-flush ceiling light built from three interlocking white metal rings that orbit a central ceiling mount, creating a sculptural form inspired by planetary motion. An integrated 80W LED strip runs through the rings, delivering 3900 lumens of warm white light at 3000K with a 120° beam angle that washes the room in ambient illumination.

Designed for living rooms, dining areas and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Planet sits 130mm below the ceiling when fitted, making it suitable for standard and moderately low ceilings where a full pendant drop would intrude on headroom. The three rings intersect to form a triquetra-like pattern when viewed from below, with each ring appearing to pass over and under the others depending on the viewing angle. This geometry gives the fitting visual interest from multiple positions in the room.

The white acrylic finish on the metal frame diffuses the LED light evenly across each ring, preventing hot spots and creating a soft glow that highlights the sculptural form without harsh shadows. The 80W LED output is equivalent to approximately 400W of incandescent light, making the Planet capable of providing primary room lighting for spaces up to 20-25m². At 3kg the fitting is light enough for standard plasterboard ceiling fixings with appropriate anchors.

The integrated LED is non-dimmable and rated for 3000K warm white output only, so rooms requiring variable light levels or cooler colour temperatures would need supplementary fittings. The 3-year warranty covers the LED module and metal frame.

Is the Planet suitable for low ceilings?

The fitting sits 130mm below the ceiling when installed, making it compatible with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Below 2.4m the fitting may feel visually heavy in the room, though it will still function safely.

Can the LED be dimmed?

No. The integrated 80W LED is non-dimmable. Rooms requiring variable light levels would need the Planet paired with separate dimmable fittings or table/floor lamps.

What room size does it suit?

At 3900 lumens the Planet provides sufficient ambient light for living rooms, dining rooms and entrance halls between 15-25m². Larger open-plan spaces may benefit from a second fitting or supplementary lighting.

How is the ceiling mount secured?

The fitting weighs 3kg and mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose or junction box. On plasterboard ceilings appropriate spring-toggle or cavity anchors are required to support the weight safely.
