Description

The Pineda is a set of three round LED downlights in black. Each has a plastic body and a soft opal diffuser set in a slim black trim. Each light measures 7.8cm across, so the trim reads as a neat dark circle against a pale ceiling. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 4.9W apiece and giving 360 lumens per light at 3000K, a warm white that suits living spaces. Their IP rating is given as both IP20 and IP44 without saying which part of the fitting each figure covers, so we recommend these downlights for dry rooms indoors.

Because they sit close to the ceiling with only the trim showing, a row of three gives a clean line of light with nothing hanging into the room. We like them over a sideboard, along a hallway or across a living room or bedroom ceiling. The black trim works especially well where you want the lights to look deliberate rather than vanish against white plaster. Each light needs just 3.5cm of depth behind the ceiling and a cut-out of 6.5cm, which makes them a good choice where the void is shallow. Buying them as a set of three means the finish and the colour of light match from one fitting to the next.

The bodies are plastic with a black finish. Each has metal clips at the sides and an opal diffuser that softens the individual LEDs into a gentle glow.
