Description

The Pietra is a 6-light semi-flush ceiling or wall light built around six polished chrome stems that radiate from a rectangular chrome backplate, each stem holding a frosted glass tulip shade around a G9 bulb fitting. The stems cross and interweave in a loose sculptural arrangement, giving the fitting a three-dimensional presence when mounted on a wall or ceiling.

Designed for lower ceilings and hallway walls where a pendant would drop too far, the Pietra projects 110mm from the surface and spreads light across a 440mm width and 750mm height. The integrated pull-cord switch allows the fitting to be controlled independently of a wall switch, making it practical for hallway lighting or as a reading light above a bed. The frosted glass softens glare from the G9 bulbs, creating diffused ambient light rather than direct task light.

Each tulip shade is hand-formed frosted glass with a clear rim that defines the petal edges. The polished chrome stems are solid metal rather than hollow tube, giving the 1.2kg fitting enough structural weight to hold its shape without sagging over time. The fitting accepts dimmable G9 bulbs (sold separately), allowing brightness to be adjusted via a compatible dimmer switch on the mains circuit.

The Pietra can be mounted either as a semi-flush ceiling light in rooms with 2.4m ceiling heights or lower, or as a wall light in hallways, stairwells and bedrooms. When wall-mounted, the backplate sits vertically and the stems fan outwards and upwards. When ceiling-mounted, the stems spread horizontally. The polished chrome finish pairs with both warm-toned interiors and cooler greys.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and connected to a compatible dimmer switch on the mains circuit. The integrated pull-cord switch is an on/off switch only and does not dim the light.

Can it be mounted on a ceiling and a wall?

Yes. The rectangular chrome backplate can be mounted horizontally on a ceiling as a semi-flush fitting, or vertically on a wall as a wall light. The stems are pre-arranged to fan outwards in both orientations.
