Description

The Pietra is a compact single-pendant light with a 100mm twisted glass shade that combines frosted and clear sections in a spiral form, suspended from a polished chrome ceiling canopy. The shade houses a single G9 halogen or LED bulb (sold separately, up to 40W), and the glass spiral both refracts and diffuses the light, creating a mix of direct beam and softer glow.

Designed for kitchens, breakfast bars, hallways and bathroom task lighting where a small focused pendant is needed, the Pietra works as a single fitting over a sink or vanity, or in multiples spaced 400-600mm apart over a kitchen island. The 480mm total drop from ceiling to base of shade suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher when hung over worktops or tables. The polished chrome finish pairs with chrome taps, handles and other fixtures in contemporary and transitional interiors.

The twisted glass shade is formed by combining two glass sections — one frosted, one clear — in a helical wrap, giving the appearance of a ribbon folded around itself. When lit, the frosted sections soften the G9 bulb's point-source glare while the clear sections allow sharper light to pass through, creating contrast and visual interest. The shade weighs 0.70kg and mounts to the chrome canopy via a threaded collar that hides the lamp holder and wiring.

The Pietra takes a single G9 halogen or LED bulb up to 40W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a G9 LED between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K warm white for kitchen or bathroom task lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all G9 LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb packaging before pairing with a dimmer.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The Pietra carries no IP rating in the specification table, so it is not rated for damp or wet bathroom zones (zones 1 and 2). It can be used in zone 3 (more than 600mm from a shower or bath) or in well-ventilated bathrooms where steam does not reach the fitting.

How is the glass shade cleaned?

Switch off the power and allow the bulb to cool. Wipe the glass with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the chrome collar where the shade mounts to the canopy.
