Description
The Piedale Pro is a glass pendant light with a white opal glass globe, 30cm in diameter, hanging from a round ceiling canopy in a satin nickel finish. A slim satin nickel rod and cap sit at the top of the globe, and the steel construction gives the light a clean, quiet line. It takes an E27 bulb, which is not included, so the brightness and warmth are yours to choose. The IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, away from bathrooms and steamy corners.
Opal glass diffuses light, spreading an even glow all round without the glare of a bare bulb, which makes this pendant easy to live with over a dining table, in a hallway or above a kitchen island. At 30cm across, the globe is big enough to hold its own in a living room or bedroom, yet not so large that it crowds a modest space. The satin nickel finish is a soft grey metal tone that sits comfortably beside white walls, pale wood and most neutral schemes, so it suits anyone after a ceiling light that will still look right after more than one redecoration.
The canopy, rod and cap are steel in a satin nickel finish, the shade is white opal glass, and the whole light weighs 1.6KG. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and has no switch of its own, so it is switched at the wall. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. When you choose the bulb, a warm white suits a living room or bedroom, while a cooler white works well over a kitchen worktop, and the opal globe softens either one.
