Description

This Elstead picture light combines a 360mm cylindrical brass tube with an adjustable goose-neck arm and a decorative square backplate, all finished in brushed brass. Two E14 bulb fittings inside the tube direct light downwards onto large artwork, mirrors or photographs, with the bulbs concealed behind the brass housing to prevent glare.

Designed for walls above large paintings, prints and mirrors, the 200mm projection positions the light source forward of the wall surface to cast even illumination across artwork widths up to 900mm. The goose-neck arm adjusts vertically on a brass-bushed pivot, allowing the angle of the light to be set during installation to suit different wall heights and frame depths. The decorative wire binding around the arm joint adds a classical detail that pairs with traditional and period interiors.

The brushed brass finish provides a warm metallic tone that complements gold-toned frames, warm wood furniture and cream or neutral wall colours without the high reflection of polished brass. The 360mm tube length suits larger artworks and wider mirrors where a narrower picture light would leave the edges under-lit. The fitting accepts two E14 candle bulbs up to 40W each (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose warm-white LEDs or traditional incandescent depending on the colour rendering needed for the artwork.

What size artwork does this suit?

The 360mm tube length works best with artwork or mirrors between 700-1000mm wide. For narrower pieces under 600mm wide, a shorter picture light would provide more proportional coverage.

What bulbs does it take?

Two E14 small Edison screw bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for accurate colour rendering of artwork.

Can the angle be adjusted after installation?

The goose-neck arm adjusts vertically on installation to set the angle. Once tightened, the angle stays fixed, but the fitting can be loosened and re-angled if needed.

How is it wired?

The picture light is hardwired into a wall-mounted back box behind the square backplate. A qualified electrician should install the fitting to ensure safe connection to UK 230V mains.
