Description

The Photonix Small is a 135mm-diameter outdoor pedestal light built from extruded and turned aluminium, finished in white powder coating with a matt white plastic diffuser. An IP44 rating protects against dust ingress and water splashes from any direction, making the fitting suitable for UK patios, pathways, driveways and terraces exposed to rain and seasonal weather.

Designed for low-level pathway lighting and patio edges, the compact footprint and short post height suit residential gardens, courtyard entrances, and balconies where a full bollard would dominate the space. The single E27 lampholder accepts standard LED, CFL or filament bulbs up to the wattage specified in the Specification table (bulb sold separately), allowing control over light temperature and brightness. The fitting is dimmable when paired with a dimmable bulb and compatible dimmer.

The matt plastic diffuser softens the light output and prevents glare when viewed from ground level or seated positions on a patio. The white powder coating on the aluminium body resists corrosion and surface degradation from UV exposure better than painted finishes, maintaining its appearance across multiple seasons. The 135mm-diameter base provides stability on paving slabs, gravel and concrete without requiring a wide plinth.

Installation requires a suitable outdoor-rated cable run to the pedestal position and a stable mounting surface. The IP44 rating covers the lamp body but does not extend to the electrical termination point unless a separate IP-rated junction box is used in the cable run. Maintenance involves occasional cleaning of the diffuser with a damp cloth to remove dust, pollen and garden debris.
