Description

The Photonix is a 90mm diameter pendant light with a white powder-coated aluminium frame and a matt white plastic diffuser. The fitting carries an IP44 rating, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, and for kitchens where occasional moisture exposure occurs. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits behind the diffuser, which spreads light evenly in a 360-degree pattern.

Designed for low-ceiling applications where compact pendants are needed, the 45mm height from canopy to diffuser base gives a shallow profile that works in bathrooms, utility rooms, hallways and kitchen zones with ceiling heights below 2.4m. The 930mm cable length allows the pendant to be shortened on installation if needed. The white aluminium canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and conceals the cable entry point.

The extruded aluminium frame provides structural rigidity at 90mm diameter without excessive weight, and the powder-coated white finish resists moisture better than painted steel. The matt plastic diffuser hides the bulb outline when lit and prevents glare in small rooms. Dimmable when paired with a compatible E27 LED bulb and dimmer switch, though dimmer compatibility varies by bulb brand.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes the Photonix suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which include areas outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure. It is not rated for zone 0 or 1, which are the areas directly above a bath or inside a shower cubicle.

What bulb does it take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED in warm white (2700K-3000K) for general bathroom or kitchen lighting.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable, but dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb and dimmer switch used. Check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before pairing with a dimmer.

How is the cable length adjusted?

The 930mm cable can be shortened during installation by trimming the excess cable inside the ceiling void before wiring to the ceiling rose. Once installed, the cable length is fixed.
