Description

The Photonix is a 90mm flush ceiling light with an elliptical white glass diffuser mounted to a coffee brown aluminium base. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, hallways with high humidity, and covered outdoor areas where the fitting is protected from direct water jets. The single E27 lampholder accepts standard screw bulbs up to 60W (sold separately).

Designed for low-ceiling spaces including bathrooms, utility rooms, hallways and landings, the Photonix sits nearly flush to the ceiling with minimal projection. The white glass diffuser spreads light evenly across the ceiling plane rather than directing it downwards, creating ambient fill rather than task illumination. The compact 90mm diameter suits smaller rooms and narrow corridors where larger flush fittings would feel oversized.

The brown finish is a powder-coated coffee tone on extruded and turned aluminium, providing corrosion resistance in humid environments. The modular construction separates the aluminium base from the glass diffuser, making bulb replacement straightforward without removing the entire fitting from the ceiling. When fitted with an LED E27 bulb between 6-10W and paired with a compatible dimmer, the Photonix provides adjustable ambient light for spaces where ceiling height or moisture exposure limits other fitting types.

Can this be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating makes the Photonix suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3, which covers areas outside the shower enclosure and away from the bath rim. It is not rated for zone 0 or 1 (inside the shower or directly above the bath).

What bulb does it take?

The Photonix takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED E27 bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for ambient bathroom or hallway lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit a dimmable E27 LED bulb and pair it with a compatible LED dimmer switch. The fitting itself does not restrict dimming — compatibility depends on the bulb and dimmer combination.

How much does it project from the ceiling?

The Photonix is a flush fitting with minimal projection, typically 50-60mm from the ceiling surface once installed. This makes it suitable for low-ceiling rooms where semi-flush or pendant fittings would hang too low.
