Description
The Photonix is a 2-light outdoor lamp post in coffee brown powder-coated aluminium, standing approximately 2m tall with two lamp heads mounted on a T-bar arm at the top of a central column. Each head houses an E27 bulb behind a matt white plastic diffuser, casting soft downward and outward light. The brown finish is a mid-tone coffee shade that sits between rust and dark bronze, blending into garden settings and natural landscaping.
Designed for pathways, driveways, front gardens and patio edges, the twin-head configuration provides wider spread than a single-source post, reducing the number of individual posts needed along a path or driveway run. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing, making the fitting suitable for exposed outdoor locations. The post is surface-mounted on a circular base plate and requires mains wiring buried or ducted to the mounting point.
The extruded aluminium column and turned aluminium lamp housings resist corrosion in typical UK weather conditions. The powder-coated finish is applied over the bare metal to prevent oxidation and colour fade over time. At 575mm arm width and 200mm projection per head, the twin lamps cover a combined illuminated zone of roughly 4-5m diameter on flat ground when fitted with 800-1000 lumen E27 LED bulbs. The brown tone pairs with brick, wood cladding, natural stone paving and earth-tone render finishes.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Photonix take?
Each head takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. For outdoor pathway use, most customers choose warm-white LED bulbs between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K to provide adequate ground illumination without excessive glare.
Is it suitable for exposed outdoor locations?
Yes. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing from any direction, making it appropriate for front gardens, driveways, pathways and patio edges exposed to typical UK weather. It is not submersible and should not be installed in areas prone to standing water or flooding.
How is the post installed?
The Photonix is surface-mounted on a circular base plate fixed to a hard surface such as paving, concrete or compacted hardcore. Mains wiring must be buried or ducted to the mounting point. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.
Can the bulbs be dimmed?
Yes, provided dimmable E27 bulbs are fitted and the circuit is wired to a compatible outdoor dimmer. Not all LED bulbs dim smoothly, so check the bulb specification before pairing with a dimmer.
