Description

The Phostis is an 860mm linear wall or ceiling light with four opal white blown glass globes mounted along a brushed gold metal bar. Each globe houses a single G9 bulb (sold separately) and is secured with a visible screw ring that doubles as a decorative brass accent. The 120mm projection from the wall or ceiling keeps the globes clear of the mounting surface while maintaining a relatively low profile for rooms with standard ceiling heights.

Designed for installation above bathroom mirrors, along hallway walls, or as semi-flush ceiling lighting in bedrooms and dressing rooms, the Phostis pairs functional multi-source light with a warm metallic finish. The four-globe configuration spreads light evenly along the 860mm length, reducing shadows when used as vanity lighting and providing balanced ambient light when ceiling-mounted. The fitting is dimmable when paired with compatible G9 dimmable bulbs and a suitable dimmer switch.

The blown glass globes diffuse the light source evenly in all directions, softening the output and eliminating glare. The gold finish on the mounting bar is a brushed satin tone rather than high-polish, which reduces reflections and pairs well with warm brass bathroom fittings, aged gold picture frames and honey-toned wood furniture. The IP20 rating limits the Phostis to dry indoor areas — it is not suitable for bathroom zones 1 or 2 where direct water contact is possible.

Is the Phostis dimmable?

Yes, the fitting itself is dimmable. You will need to use four dimmable G9 bulbs and pair the light with a compatible dimmer switch rated for the total wattage of the bulbs you choose.

What bulbs does it take?

The Phostis takes four G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with LED G9 bulbs rated between 3-5W each for energy efficiency, though halogen G9 bulbs up to the manufacturer's maximum wattage are also compatible.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the Phostis is suitable for dry indoor areas only. It can be installed in a bathroom outside of zones 1 and 2 — typically this means at least 600mm away from a bath, shower or basin, and not where direct water spray is possible.

How is it mounted?

The metal bar fixes to the wall or ceiling via a mounting plate (supplied) that conceals the cable entry point. The 120mm projection accounts for the depth of the globes once the fitting is installed. Wall mounting requires the bar to be level; ceiling mounting positions the globes hanging below the bar.
