Description

The Phosara is a 10-metre braided fabric cable with a brass-coloured textile sheath covering a standard two-core electrical cable. The 10mm diameter outer braid provides both mechanical protection and a decorative finish that suits exposed cable runs where the cable itself becomes part of the visible design.

Designed for pendant light installations, custom ceiling drops and replacement cable runs on vintage or industrial-style fittings, the Phosara can be cut to any length needed for a specific installation. The braided textile outer allows the cable to flex and bend without kinking or splitting, making it easier to route through ceiling roses, cord grips and lamp holders than rigid plastic-sheathed cable.

The brass finish provides a warm metallic tone that pairs with antique brass and bronze hardware, Edison-style filament bulbs, and industrial pendant shades. The textile braid is tightly woven to resist fraying when cut, though the cut end should be sealed with heat-shrink or electrical tape during installation to prevent unravelling over time. The 10-metre length is enough for multiple ceiling drops or a single long run from a high ceiling.

Yes. The cable is rated for 230V UK mains voltage. The internal conductors are insulated and protected by the braided fabric sheath. Always ensure cable is installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations.

This is a two-core cable (live and neutral). For installations requiring an earth connection, a separate earth conductor must be run alongside or a three-core cable used instead.

Does the braided fabric fray when cut?
