Phantom 50cm Sculptural Glass Pendant Light - White & Chrome

The Phantom is a 50cm sculptural glass pendant light with a flowing organic form in gloss white glass, suspended from a polished chrome canopy and cable. The shade is constructed from two layers: an outer shell in high-gloss white glass with deep vertical folds, and an inner frosted white glass core that houses a single E27 bulb fitting. When lit, the frosted inner core diffuses light outward through the sculptural outer layer, creating a soft ambient glow that highlights the contours of the glass.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.7m or higher, the Phantom works as both a decorative focal point and a functional light source. The drop is adjustable between 500mm and 1500mm on installation, allowing the pendant to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or worktop depending on ceiling height. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable run is concealed within the chrome suspension system.

The sculpted glass form is made by Mantra in Spain using moulded glass techniques that give the outer shell its characteristic flowing shape. Each pendant weighs 3kg once assembled, requiring a ceiling fixing capable of supporting that load plus the fitting hardware. The high-gloss white finish on the outer glass reflects ambient daylight when unlit, while the frosted inner core prevents glare from the bulb when switched on. The pendant accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the manufacturer's recommended wattage (sold separately), and is dimmable when paired with suitable dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch.

What bulb does the Phantom take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K to balance the diffused output with the sculptural glass form.

Is the Phantom dimmable?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable E27 bulb and pair it with a compatible dimmer switch. The glass shade itself has no electronic components, so dimming behaviour depends entirely on the bulb and dimmer combination you choose.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 500-1500mm adjustable drop means the pendant can be installed in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.7m upward. For a dining table the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface, which requires a ceiling height of at least 2.4m when set to the minimum 500mm drop, or 2.7m+ for comfortable headroom when using the full 1500mm drop.

How is the glass cleaned?

The high-gloss white outer shell can be wiped with a soft microfibre cloth and a small amount of glass cleaner when the pendant is switched off and cool. Avoid abrasive cloths or scouring pads that could scratch the gloss finish. The frosted inner core is typically self-cleaning as dust does not settle inside the sealed glass assembly.
