Description

The Petaca is a 25cm round LED wall light with an integrated 8W LED casting 480 lumens of warm 3000K light through a matt white polymeric diffuser. The entire fitting sits just 35mm from the wall once mounted, giving it a low profile that suits narrow hallways, low-ceiling bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms where deeper wall lights would protrude awkwardly into the room.

Designed as ambient lighting rather than task light, the Petaca works in hallways, landing areas, bedroom walls opposite the bed, and bathrooms as secondary wash light alongside ceiling fittings. The matt white finish reflects minimal glare under daylight and the circular diffuser distributes the 480 lumens evenly across the wall plane, avoiding harsh spotting. The fitting weighs 1kg and mounts to a standard UK wall back plate with concealed fixings.

The polymeric construction keeps the weight manageable for plasterboard walls and resists discolouration better than painted metal over time. The 8W consumption draws approximately 0.035A on 230V mains, making it suitable for lighting circuits with multiple fittings. The LED is non-dimmable and rated for 3000K warm white output only, so it pairs naturally with warm-toned interiors and incandescent-replacement schemes where cooler LEDs would clash.

Is the Petaca dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is non-dimmable. Attempting to fit the light onto a dimmer circuit may cause flickering or damage the driver.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The specification table does not list an IP rating, so the Petaca is not rated for bathroom zones requiring water resistance. It can be used in hallways adjacent to bathrooms or in bedrooms with en-suites, but should not be installed within bathroom zones 1 or 2 where splashing occurs.

How is it mounted?

The Petaca mounts to a standard UK wall back plate with concealed fixings. The matt white diffuser clips or screws onto the base plate once wiring is complete, hiding the fixings from view. A qualified electrician should complete the installation.

What's the light output compared to a traditional bulb?

The 480 lumens from the 8W LED is roughly equivalent to a 40W incandescent bulb. This makes the Petaca suitable for ambient lighting in hallways and bedrooms, but not bright enough as the sole light source in a kitchen or bathroom.
