Description

The Perry is a single-light wall fitting with a polished chrome backplate and arm supporting an opal etched glass drum shade. The fitting includes a 3W G9 LED bulb rated at 3000K warm white, which sits inside the drum and diffuses through the etched glass to give soft, even light without visible hot spots or glare.

Designed for bathroom installation either side of a mirror or above a vanity unit, the Perry carries an IP44 rating allowing use in bathroom zones 2 and 3 where it may encounter occasional water spray. The 178mm projection from the wall positions the glass shade clear of typical mirror edges, while the 222mm height suits standard washbasin mirror installations at head height. The polished chrome frame reflects bathroom lighting and creates a metallic accent against tiled or painted walls.

The opal glass is etched rather than painted, so the diffusion effect comes from the surface texture of the glass itself and will not degrade or discolour over time. The stepped chrome detailing on the backplate and arm holder adds depth to what is otherwise a simple cylindrical shade. The polished chrome finish pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and shower fittings in both contemporary and traditional bathroom schemes.

What does the IP44 rating mean for bathroom use?

IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects over 1mm and water splashes from any direction. It can be installed in bathroom zones 2 and 3, which cover areas outside the shower enclosure or bath zone where occasional spray may occur. It should not be installed directly inside a shower cubicle or above a bath (zone 1).

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. The Perry includes a 3W G9 LED bulb rated at 3000K warm white. The bulb is pre-fitted and ready to use on installation.

Can I replace the bulb with a different G9 fitting?

Yes. The G9 socket accepts any standard G9 LED or halogen bulb up to the maximum rated wattage. Most users stick with LED G9 bulbs in the 2-4W range for bathroom use, choosing between 2700K warm white and 4000K cool white depending on preference.

How is the fitting mounted?

The circular chrome backplate fixes to the wall with two screws through mounting holes in the plate. The electrical connection is made behind the backplate before the cover is screwed into place. Standard UK bathroom wiring applies, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with Part P Building Regulations.
