Description

The Pembroke is a wall light with a hand-forged iron frame finished in black gold, supporting a hemispherical cream glass bowl. A twisted spiral stem runs from the wall plate to the bowl, with decorative twisted banding around the bowl rim and base. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W, housed inside the glass shade.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, dining rooms and bedrooms where decorative wall lighting is needed without ceiling downlights, the Pembroke provides upward-directed ambient light through the cream glass. The 130mm projection from the wall allows the fitting to be mounted above dado rail height or in alcoves without encroaching too far into the room. The black gold finish shows a dark base metal with worn gold highlights visible on the raised details of the twisted ironwork.

The hand-forged iron construction gives each fitting minor variations in the twist pitch and metal texture, a characteristic of wrought metalwork rather than cast or stamped components. At 260mm height and width, the Pembroke suits walls in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, providing visible presence without dominating a space. The Pembroke takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

At 260mm height, the fitting works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In rooms with lower ceilings the fitting may appear visually dominant, though it can still be mounted functionally.

Can it be dimmed?

Dimming depends on the bulb chosen. If using an LED bulb, select one marked as dimmable and pair it with an LED-compatible dimmer switch. Traditional incandescent and halogen bulbs dim on standard dimmers.

The black gold finish is a dark base metal with gold highlights visible on the raised details of the twisted ironwork, created by applying a gold top coat over black base metal and then distressing to reveal the darker metal beneath on recessed areas.
