Description

The Pembroke is a 300mm flush ceiling light with a hand-forged iron frame finished in black with gold accent detailing. The frame consists of twisted iron bands that wrap around a central frosted glass diffuser, with the gold finish applied to the raised texture of the forged metal. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits behind the glass, casting diffused ambient light across the room.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.2m to 2.6m where a pendant would hang too low, the Pembroke provides ceiling-level illumination with a 75mm projection from the mounting surface. The flush fitting suits hallways, bedrooms, small living rooms and landings where headroom matters. The hand-forged frame gives each fitting slight variation in the metal texture and tone where the gold highlights the raised iron.

The black and gold combination works in both traditional and transitional interiors, pairing with warm wood tones, heritage paint colours and darker wall finishes. The frosted glass diffuser softens the bulb glare and spreads light evenly, while the twisted iron frame casts subtle shadows onto the ceiling when lit. The E27 socket accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to 60W, giving control over light temperature and brightness.

What bulb does the Pembroke take?

The fitting takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose a warm-white LED between 6W and 10W at 2700K to 3000K for ambient bedroom or hallway lighting.

Is this suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 75mm projection from the ceiling makes the Pembroke well-suited to rooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.6m where a pendant would feel too low. The flush mounting keeps the fitting close to the ceiling plane.

Is the fitting heavy?

The hand-forged iron frame gives the fitting moderate weight. Standard UK ceiling roses with appropriate fixings will support the Pembroke on plasterboard or solid ceilings. If mounting on an older ceiling rose, check the condition of the fixings before installation.

Can the gold detailing wear over time?

The gold finish is applied to the raised texture of the forged iron. Normal use should not cause wear, but avoid abrasive cleaning materials. A dry microfibre cloth is sufficient to remove dust from the metal and glass.
