Description

These mango wood coasters come as a set of four, each a neat round disc with paw prints cut right through the wood. Two of the set carry a single large paw print, while the other two pair a large print with a smaller one walking alongside, so the four look lively and varied when laid out together. Each coaster measures 10cm across and 1.3cm deep, a comfortable size for an everyday mug, a teacup or a tumbler. The wood is a warm brown, and because every piece is natural timber, the grain and tone shift from coaster to coaster, from golden honey shades to deeper reddish browns.

We like them on a coffee table in the living room, beside the kettle in the kitchen, on a desk in the home office or on a bedside table where the last cup of tea of the evening tends to end up. Because the paws are cut through, the surface beneath shows through each print, so the coasters pick up a little of whatever they rest on, whether that is pale oak, dark walnut or a painted tabletop. They bring a cheerful, homely touch to a room without shouting about it, and as a gift, a set of four is an easy present that earns its place on the table every day.

Each coaster is a single flat piece of wood, and the edges around every pad and toe are cleanly cut. Wood is happiest kept simple: wipe the coasters with a damp cloth, dry them straight away and keep them out of the washing-up bowl and away from standing water, as you would any wooden piece. When the table is cleared, the four stack neatly together in a drawer or on a shelf, ready to come out again when the kettle goes on.

Frequently Asked

How big are the paw print coasters?

Each coaster measures 10cm across and 1.3cm deep, which gives an everyday mug, a teacup or a tumbler a steady place to sit.

What are the coasters made of?

Each coaster is cut from mango wood in a warm brown, and the natural grain means no two coasters look quite the same.

Are all four coasters the same design?

No. Two coasters carry a single large paw print, and the other two pair a large paw print with a smaller one beside it.

Do the paw prints go all the way through the wood?

Yes, the paw prints are cut right through each coaster, so the table or surface beneath shows through every pad and toe.

How should I look after wooden coasters?

Wipe them with a damp cloth and dry them straight away, and keep them out of the washing-up bowl and standing water, as with any wooden piece.

Would these paw print coasters make a good gift?

We think so. A set of four round wooden coasters with cut-out paw prints is a cheerful, practical present that gets used every day.
