Description

The Parish Mini is a 950mm black pillar light with a traditional six-panel lantern head made from die-cast aluminium and clear glass. The lantern sits on a square-section aluminium post with an octagonal base plate, all finished in black powder coat. A single E27 bulb (sold separately, max 60W) sits inside the lantern behind the clear glass panels, casting 360-degree light for driveways, gate pillars and garden pathways.

Designed for installation on top of brick or stone pillars, gate posts and low boundary walls, the Parish Mini provides functional lighting at driveway entrances, front gates and along pathways where a full-height post is not needed. The 950mm height positions the light source at waist to chest height on a typical 600-900mm pillar, giving downward spill onto the ground and horizontal spread across the approach. The IP44 rating protects against rain and moisture from all directions, making it suitable for year-round outdoor use in the UK.

The die-cast aluminium construction gives the Parish Mini the weight and rigidity of traditional cast-iron pillar lights without the corrosion risk. The black powder-coat finish bonds to the metal under heat, providing a harder-wearing surface than spray paint. The clear glass panels are set into the lantern frame with gaskets that maintain the IP44 seal while allowing bulb changes from below. The octagonal base plate includes pre-drilled fixing holes for bolting to masonry or concrete pillar caps. Handcrafted in the UK by Elstead Lighting and covered by a 10-year warranty.

What bulb does it take?

The Parish Mini takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-10W and 2700K for outdoor path lighting, or a clear filament-style LED for a more decorative appearance.

How is it mounted?

The octagonal base plate bolts directly to the top of a brick, stone or concrete pillar using the pre-drilled fixing holes. The electrical cable feeds up through the centre of the pillar and connects to the lamp holder inside the lantern base. The base plate covers the pillar cap and hides the cable entry point.

Can it be used on a gate post?

Yes. The Parish Mini is commonly used on gate posts at driveway entrances and front gates, providing light for both decorative effect and safe approach lighting. The IP44 rating protects it from rain and moisture in exposed positions.

What does the 10-year warranty cover?

The 10-year warranty covers manufacturing defects in the die-cast aluminium body, powder-coat finish, glass panels and internal wiring. It does not cover bulbs, damage from incorrect installation, or corrosion caused by coastal salt exposure without regular maintenance.
