Description

The Paola is a single-light wall sconce with a silver-painted metal frame that loops upward to support a cream fabric shade, with an optional black glass droplet hanging from the base of the loop. An integrated rocker switch is built into the oval wall plate, allowing the light to be controlled without needing a separate wall switch circuit. The fitting takes a single E14 bulb (sold separately) behind the cream shade, which diffuses light upward and outward.

Designed for bedside positioning, hallways and living room feature walls where an accessible on/off control is more practical than wiring to a wall switch, the Paola mounts to a standard UK back box with the cable concealed behind the oval wall plate. The 170mm projection from the wall keeps the shade clear of furniture when mounted at standard bedside height (approximately 1400-1600mm from the floor). The 380mm overall height makes it suitable for installation between headboards and picture frames without dominating the wall.

The silver-painted finish on the metal frame provides a cooler-toned alternative to brass or gold wall lights, pairing with grey, white and neutral interiors. The cream fabric shade softens the light output compared to exposed-bulb designs and hides the bulb itself from view when seated or standing at typical viewing angles. The optional glass droplet can be removed on installation if a simpler profile is preferred, or left in place for a more decorative character.

Does the wall light include a bulb?

No. The fitting takes a single E14 (small Edison screw) bulb up to the maximum wattage stated on the fitting label, sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or ambient use.

Is the integrated switch dimmable?

The integrated rocker switch is on/off only. To dim the light, you need a dimmable E14 bulb and either a wall dimmer on the circuit supplying the fitting, or a plug-in dimmer module if the fitting is wired to a standard switched circuit.

Can the glass droplet be removed?

Yes. The black glass droplet hangs from the metal loop and can be detached on installation if you prefer a simpler profile without the decorative element.

What height should it be mounted at?
