Description

The Paola is a single-light wall sconce with a silver-painted metal frame that loops into a circular form, holding a black fabric shade at the top and terminating in an optional glass droplet below. An integrated switch on the backplate allows the light to be controlled without a wall switch, making it suitable for bedside installation or positions where circuit switching is inconvenient. The E14 fitting accepts candle bulbs (sold separately).

Designed for bedrooms, hallways and living rooms where task or ambient lighting is needed at a controlled position, the Paola projects 170mm from the wall and measures 380mm in height. The integrated switch removes the need to reach across a bedside table or walk to a door switch, which is particularly useful in bedrooms and reading corners. The silver finish on the frame contrasts with the black shade, giving the fitting a defined edge in both daylight and when lit.

The looping frame is formed from painted steel rod, finished in a metallic silver that reflects ambient light during the day. The black fabric shade diffuses light upwards and downwards, casting a soft glow onto the wall and ceiling rather than directing a focused beam. The optional glass droplet hangs from the bottom of the loop on a small chain and can be removed during installation if a simpler silhouette is preferred. The fitting weighs 600g and mounts to a standard UK single-gang backplate.

The dimmable E14 fitting works with a trailing-edge dimmer, and a warm 2700K to 3000K bulb keeps output soft against the black shade at eye level.

What bulb does the Paola take?

The fitting takes a single E14 candle bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. We suggest pairing this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or ambient lighting.

Is the integrated switch dimmable?

The integrated switch is on/off only. To dim the light, use a dimmable E14 LED bulb and install the wall light on a dimmer circuit at the wall switch. The dimmer must be LED-compatible.

Can the glass droplet be removed?

Yes. The glass droplet hangs from a small chain at the bottom of the looping frame and can be unhooked during installation if you prefer a simpler look without the decorative element.

What wall fixings are needed?

The backplate mounts to a standard UK single-gang electrical box using the fixings provided. On solid walls without a back box, use appropriate wall plugs and screws for the wall type (typically 5mm plugs for masonry).
