Description

The Palace is an 80cm-diameter K9 crystal chandelier with 22 G9 lampholders arranged across a tiered chrome frame. Chains of faceted crystal balls cascade from the upper canopy, while larger smoked K9 crystal drops hang in three tiers below, each tier ringed by a black chrome band. The fitting includes a remote control for on/off and dimming, and the suspension chain is covered in black velvet.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, formal dining rooms and large living spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or higher, the Palace requires substantial vertical clearance. The minimum drop from ceiling to fitting base is 170cm, with the suspension adjustable up to 270cm for taller voids. The 45.5kg weight means installation must be onto a reinforced ceiling joist or beam capable of supporting the load, not a standard plasterboard ceiling rose.

The K9 crystal is a lead-free optical glass cut with multiple facets to refract light. The smoked tint on the larger drops gives a grey-amber cast under illumination, contrasting with the clear crystal chains above. The chrome finish on the structural frame and tier bands provides high reflectivity, multiplying the light output from the 22 bulbs. G9 halogen bulbs up to 42W each are compatible, though LED G9 equivalents at 4-6W per bulb are now more common and reduce the total load from 924W down to 88-132W.

The remote control operates via infrared and requires line-of-sight to the fitting's receiver module, which is housed in the canopy. The dimming function works with dimmable G9 LED bulbs; non-dimmable LEDs will simply switch on and off without dimming capability. The black velvet chain cover runs the full adjustable length and conceals the suspension cable.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Palace uses 22 G9 bulbs, rated up to 42W each. Bulbs are not included. Most users now fit dimmable LED G9 bulbs at 4-6W to reduce energy consumption and heat output while maintaining compatibility with the remote dimming function.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop from ceiling to the base of the fitting is 170cm, so a ceiling height of at least 3m is recommended to maintain clearance below the chandelier. The suspension is adjustable up to 270cm for double-height spaces.

Can it be installed on a standard ceiling rose?

No. The 45.5kg weight requires installation onto a reinforced ceiling joist or beam. Standard plasterboard ceiling roses are not rated for this load. Professional installation by a qualified electrician is required.
