Description

The Palace is an 18-light crystal chandelier built around a 1m diameter gold-finished metal frame with ornate relief patterning across the rim and tiers. Strands of faceted crystal pendants drape in multiple layers from the frame, forming a bowl-like cascade that encloses 18 E27 bulb positions arranged in three concentric rings. The crystals refract and scatter light from the bulbs, turning each point source into a distributed glow across the entire fitting.

Designed as a semi-flush ceiling light rather than a pendant, the Palace sits 62.5cm below the ceiling with a fixed drop (68.8cm from ceiling rose to lowest crystal). This makes it suited to rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or above, where the fitting can sit at 2.3-2.4m above floor level without becoming an obstruction. The 1m diameter and substantial crystal mass mean the chandelier works best in spaces wider than 4m — entrance halls, formal dining rooms, double-height landings and ballrooms where the scale matches the room proportions.

The gold finish on the metal frame carries an antique patina rather than a high-polish shine, giving warmth under both daylight and artificial light. The relief patterning along the rim adds visual weight to the upper tier and frames the crystal strands below. Each crystal pendant is individually hung on wire hooks, which means individual strands can be removed for cleaning or replaced if damaged. The 18 x E27 bulbs are sold separately, allowing choice of filament, LED or halogen depending on the desired light colour and intensity.

What bulbs does the Palace take?

The chandelier uses 18 x E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K for a traditional glow, though filament-style decorative bulbs are also an option where the crystals do not fully conceal the bulb.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting sits 62.5cm below the ceiling with the lowest crystal at 68.8cm below the ceiling rose. For the chandelier to hang at a safe height above head clearance (minimum 2.1m above floor), a ceiling height of 3m or above is recommended.

Is the drop adjustable?

No. The Palace is a semi-flush fitting with a fixed 68.8cm overall drop. It does not have an adjustable chain or cable that can be shortened or lengthened.

How are the crystals cleaned?

Each crystal strand is hung on individual wire hooks and can be removed for cleaning. Wipe with a soft, slightly damp microfibre cloth and dry immediately. Avoid soaking the crystals or using household sprays, as moisture can tarnish the metal fittings behind the crystals.
